Purpose of the position

  • The O&M Field Operator will be responsible for operation and maintenance of liquid fuel equipment, including centrifuges, fuel filters, pumps, hoses, valves, storage tanks, fuel off loading and fuel analysis. Together with water treatment equipment, filters, hoses, pumps, storage tanks, and water analysis. And plant equipment in general. This individual will report to the Plant Manager and will work closely with the Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively participate in the PRISMECS health, safety, and environment program.
  • Comply with the health, safety and environment regulations applicable to the power generation plant industry.
  • Follow Company PTW and LOTO procedures at all times.
  • Collaborate with HSE in everything is needed and comply with their directives or guidelines.
  • Execute the preventive and corrective works and maintenance in the facilities and the equipment in accordance with the OEM manuals, best industry practices, procedures, policies and guidance provided by the Plant Manager.
  • Sets high personal standards as an example.
  • Takes firm action to proactively report and repair sub-standard performance and equipment installation.
  • Responsible to update the maintenance history of the plant facilities and equipment in the logbooks, reports and digital files.
  • Responsible to assure that the fluid testing program is executed correctly in the equipment.
  • To propose the maintenance activities and jobs to be performed to the Plant Manager with enough anticipation to allow coordination with the Operation department and get the approval to execute the works without impacting the plant availability.
  • Responsible to coordinate with the Operations department the intervention of the equipment of the plant to reduce the impact on the availability.
  • Participate in plant training program to assure the correct operations of the plant facilities and equipment in coordination with the Plant Manager.
  • Always available to address any emergency resulting from an equipment failure.
  • Track the compliance of the fluid test program and implement corrective and proactive measures.
  • Propose a list of the most important parts, consumables, tools and materials and report it to the Plant Manager who will establish the list of the minimum necessary materials and made the request to proper department.
  • Work closely with Plant Manager to help and support the inventory audit and confirm that the minimum material is available at the plant.
  • Assure the correct use and care of tools and auxiliary equipment by all the personnel at the site.
  • Participate in the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) applicable and provide all the information available under his responsibility.
  • Carry out the scheduled work programmed by the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager during his shift, including but not limited to:
  • – Operate the Protection and Control Systems in compliance with plant procedures.
  • – Execute preventive and routine maintenance.
  • – Responsible for daily reporting with accurate information.
  • – General Facilities Maintenance.
  • – Support other activities assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Responsible of the prompt communication of any incident, accident, injury, environmental violation, equipment failure, damage to the equipment and any other event in the plant that require immediate action during his shift.
  • Housekeeping.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Support other areas of the plant to accomplish the goals established for the plant operations.
  • Capable of working in multi-cultural and multidisciplinary work environments to ensure O&M of the Plant are effectively and technically delivered to meet contract compliance and customer satisfaction.
  • Always consult with Plant Manager over major technical issues and work planning but otherwise must be capable of perform his duties with minimum supervision.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Plant Manager.

 

Qualifications

  • Technical School Degree or higher with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in operation of similar facility.
  • English proficiency (reading, writing and speaking), German speaker is a plus.
  • Reporting knowledge and experience.
  • Capable of working in rotation shifts.
  • Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Knowledge.
  • HSE General Basic Knowledge
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18001 (a plus)
