Position Summary
- We are seeking a skilled QC Site Inspector specializing in Electrical works to ensure the quality and compliance of electrical construction activities for a power plant project, with a specific focus on photovoltaic plants. The QC Site Inspector – Electrical will be responsible for conducting inspections, performing tests, and verifying compliance with electrical specifications, codes, and standards. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in electrical construction, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in quality control inspections for electrical works in photovoltaic plants.
Responsibilities

- Conduct thorough inspections and audits of electrical construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Review electrical plans, drawings, and technical documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to quality requirements.
- Perform quality control tests, measurements, and evaluations on electrical components and systems, including electrical installations, equipment, cabling, and grounding.
- Inspect electrical materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
- Verify proper installation, connection, and functioning of electrical systems, including inverters, transformers, switchgear, and control panels.
- Identify and document non-conformities, deviations, and quality issues, and coordinate with project stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
- Conduct pre-commissioning inspections and functional tests of electrical systems to ensure readiness and compliance with quality standards.
- Monitor and document construction progress, ensuring that quality control activities are conducted at each stage of the electrical construction process.
- Collaborate with electrical contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to address quality-related concerns and resolve technical issues.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and non-conformance issues, and maintain accurate records of all quality control activities.
- Participate in project meetings, including coordination and progress meetings, to provide quality insights and contribute to project decision-making processes.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, codes, standards, and emerging technologies related to electrical works in power plant construction, specifically photovoltaic plants.
- Collaborate with the QAQC Manager to implement quality control procedures, guidelines, and improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, promoting a culture of safety on the construction site.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in electrical construction, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in quality control inspections for electrical works in photovoltaic plants.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, practices, and construction techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of quality control processes and methodologies in the construction industry, specifically for electrical works.
- Familiarity with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations pertaining to power plant construction, particularly photovoltaic plants.
- Experience in conducting inspections, tests, and measurements on electrical components and systems.
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Familiarity with electrical equipment, systems, and installations used in power plants, including inverters, transformers, switchgear, and control panels.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify and document non-conformities and quality issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions based on inspection findings.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with construction teams, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Familiarity with quality control tools and techniques, as well as relevant software applications.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
