Position Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to provide design review services for a power plant project, specifically focusing on photovoltaic plants. The Design Engineer will be responsible for coordinating, supervising, reviewing, and approving the full engineering package on behalf of the Owner. The ideal candidate must have a strong engineering background and experience in design review, ensuring compliance with project documents, industry standards, and good engineering practices. Additionally, the candidate should possess excellent coordination and communication skills to collaborate with the EPC Contractor and other parties involved in the design review process.
Responsibilities

- Attend the Kick-off Meeting with the Owner and EPC Contractor at the defined headquarters.
- Review and ensure completeness of the Engineering Document List (EDL) proposed by the EPC Contractor, verifying that it includes all required documents for compliance with project documents, state-of-the-art practices, and good engineering practices across all disciplines.
- Ensure consistent naming of all documents according to the agreed Document Identification System with the EPC Contractor.
- Coordinate the design review process, including the review and approval of all documents in the EDL in accordance with project documents, industry standards, and good engineering practices.
- Provide comments and feedback to the EPC Contractor through Comment Resolution Sheets (CRS).
- Coordinate weekly engineering meetings with the Owner and EPC Contractor, including agenda preparation.
- Attend technical meetings and workshops as required by the Owner, including weekly engineering meetings and design review meetings.
- Validate the weekly updates of the EDL, tracking progress and new forecast dates.
- Submit weekly progress statistics to the Owner.
- Prepare monthly reports detailing progress and areas of concern.
- Manage document control, including the sharing of documents through the Document Management System (DMS), preparation of transmittals, and organization of the project’s internal engineering folder.
- Review and approve the complete as-built package based on the EDL before Mechanical Completion.
- Adopt and utilize the proposed DMS provided by the EPC Contractor.
- Ensure timely review of each document received, with a maximum period of ten (10) calendar days for initial review and five (5) calendar days for subsequent revisions.
- Follow Owner’s requirements to expedite the review of specific drawings that may impact the project schedule.
Qualifications
- Engineering background, preferably with a degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Specific training in solar photovoltaic technology and project management fundamentals is desirable.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in design review and coordination in the power plant industry, preferably with a focus on photovoltaic plants.
- Familiarity with engineering document control systems and processes.
- Solid understanding of project documents, state-of-the-art practices, and good engineering practices.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration with the EPC Contractor and other stakeholders.
- Ability to review and evaluate engineering documents, drawings, schedules, technical specifications, calculations, and other relevant documents.
- Proficiency in using Document Management Systems (DMS) for document control and coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and providing feedback on engineering documents.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel to the project site, the Owner’s offices, or other locations as required.
