Position Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced QAQC Manager to ensure the quality and compliance of the construction process for a power plant project, specifically focusing on photovoltaic plants. The QAQC Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing quality control and quality assurance procedures, conducting inspections, and coordinating with project stakeholders to ensure that the project meets the required quality standards. Additionally, the QAQC Manager will provide additional services related to the coordination, supervision, review, and approval of Key Components Quality Manufacturing Documentation. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in construction, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in QAQC for photovoltaic plants of similar scale and technology.

  Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement comprehensive QAQC procedures, policies, and guidelines for the construction project, in line with industry standards and project specifications.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards, codes, regulations, and project requirements.
    • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure effective communication and coordination of QAQC activities.
    • Review and approve construction plans, specifications, and technical documents to ensure adherence to quality standards and project requirements.
    • Establish and maintain a robust documentation system to track and report quality control activities, including inspections, tests, and non-conformities.
    • Identify and assess potential quality risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
    • Coordinate with third-party testing agencies and laboratories to conduct material testing and analysis, as required.
    • Provide guidance and support to the construction team regarding quality control procedures, standards, and best practices.
    • Conduct training sessions for project personnel on QAQC requirements, procedures, and quality standards.
    • Participate in project meetings, including progress reviews and design reviews, to provide QAQC insights and recommendations.
    • Collaborate with the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) team to ensure that QAQC activities align with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
    • Stay updated with industry advancements, regulations, and emerging QAQC trends related to power plant construction and photovoltaic systems.
    • Coordinate the coordination, supervision, review, and approval of Key Components Quality Manufacturing Documentation, including FAT reports, Manufacturing Quality Control Documentation, Final Quality Manufacturing Books, type test reports, etc.
    • Review and approve all Key Components FAT reports to ensure compliance with project contractual requirements, local legislations, and applicable Codes and Standards.
    • Issue FAT reports for each Key Component upon successful completion of the respective FATs.
    • Review Manufacturing Quality Control Documentation of each Key Component to guarantee compliance with the applicable Project contractual requirements, Codes, and Standards.
    • Review Final Quality Manufacturing Books of the Key Components.
    • Submit a monthly report to the Owner detailing progress and areas of concern until completion.
    • Manage document control, including sharing documents through the Document Management System (DMS), preparing transmittals, and organizing the project internal folder.
    • Approve type test reports if applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering, construction management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in construction, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in QAQC for photovoltaic plants of similar scale and technology.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing QAQC procedures and processes.
  • Strong understanding of quality control and quality assurance principles and methodologies.
  • Sound knowledge of photovoltaic system design, installation, and operation.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations in the power plant and renewable energy industries.
  • Experience in conducting inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in using quality control tools and techniques, as well as project management software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work with a high level of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in the construction industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  •  Willingness to travel to the project site (Angola).
