Position Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor specializing in High Voltage (HV) Electrical works to oversee the HV electrical construction activities for a power plant project, with a specific focus on photovoltaic plants. The Site Supervisor – HV Electrical will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the onsite HV electrical works, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and quality standards. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in HV electrical construction, with knowledge of power plant construction and photovoltaic systems.
Responsibilities

- Coordinate and oversee the daily HV electrical construction activities at the project site, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Manage and supervise the onsite HV electrical construction team, including electricians, technicians, contractors, and laborers, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor construction progress, identify any potential delays or issues, and take corrective actions to ensure project milestones are achieved on time.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify the quality of HV electrical works, ensuring compliance with design specifications, codes, and standards.
- Coordinate with the engineering team to resolve technical issues, provide input on HV electrical installation methods, and ensure accurate interpretation of HV electrical design plans and specifications.
- Review and approve work plans, method statements, and risk assessments prepared by HV electrical contractors, ensuring they align with project requirements and safety guidelines.
- Ensure proper implementation of safety protocols and practices at the construction site, promoting a culture of safety among the HV electrical construction team.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of HV electrical materials, equipment, and tools required for the construction activities.
- Maintain accurate records of HV electrical construction activities, including daily progress reports, site diaries, and inspection reports.
- Collaborate with the QAQC team to address any quality-related issues, perform inspections, and ensure compliance with quality control procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules, resource plans, and progress reports, providing input on the HV electrical construction activities.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, codes, regulations, and emerging technologies related to power plant construction and HV electrical systems.
- Communicate and coordinate with project stakeholders, including engineers, consultants, and clients, to provide updates on construction progress and address any concerns.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in HV electrical construction, with hands-on experience in power plant construction or renewable energy projects.
- Strong knowledge of HV electrical engineering principles, practices, and construction techniques.
- Familiarity with HV electrical systems in power plants, including transformers, switchgear, cables, protection systems, and HV electrical installations.
- Proven experience in coordinating and supervising HV electrical construction teams and subcontractors.
- Understanding of safety regulations and procedures in the construction industry, particularly related to HV electrical works.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams and project stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret HV electrical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address HV electrical construction-related issues.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Willingness to work onsite and travel to project site (Angola).
