Position Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled Site Technical Office Engineer to provide technical support and coordination for a power plant project, specifically focusing on photovoltaic plants. The Site Technical Office Engineer will be responsible for managing project documentation, assisting with design coordination, coordinating with various stakeholders, and providing technical expertise to ensure smooth project execution. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in technical office engineering, with knowledge of power plant construction and photovoltaic systems.
Responsibilities

- Manage and organize project documentation, including drawings, specifications, contracts, and correspondence, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are maintained.
- Coordinate with the design team to review and provide input on project plans, drawings, and technical documents, ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards.
- Assist in the coordination of design changes, revisions, and clarifications between the design team, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Support the procurement process by reviewing technical specifications and providing technical input during the evaluation of vendor proposals.
- Collaborate with the construction team to ensure smooth implementation of design plans, resolve technical issues, and address design-related queries.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, verify adherence to design specifications, and provide technical guidance as required.
- Assist in the preparation and review of technical submittals, including method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, and test plans.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, consultants, and third-party specialists to obtain necessary approvals, permits, and certifications.
- Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders, providing technical expertise and clarifications.
- Assist in the preparation of project progress reports, technical presentations, and other project-related documentation.
- Monitor and track project changes, variations, and non-conformities, and participate in the resolution of technical issues.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to power plant construction and photovoltaic systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and environmental regulations throughout the project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in technical office engineering or a similar role, preferably in power plant construction or renewable energy projects.
- Solid understanding of power plant construction principles, processes, and technical requirements.
- Knowledge of photovoltaic systems, including design, installation, and operation.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Strong coordination and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and project stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications, including AutoCAD and project management tools.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in the construction industry.
- Willingness to travel to project site (Angola).
